What this service does with your documents

When you compare two PDFs, both files are sent over HTTPS to our comparison server, processed in memory, and discarded as soon as the response has been returned to you. The files are not written to permanent storage, not backed up, not used to train anything and not shared with anyone. Temporary files created during processing are deleted at the end of the same request.

The response you receive (the change list, the redlined PDF and the side-by-side view) is delivered to your browser or API client and is not retained by us.

What we do store

• Account data. If you create an account: your email address, a hashed password, and your plan and usage counts (number of comparisons and page counts, never document content).
• Payment records. Payments are processed by Razorpay. We store the order and payment identifiers Razorpay returns, not card details.
• API usage. For API keys: request counts, page counts and timings for billing and abuse prevention.
• Server logs. IP address, user agent, request path and status, retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging. Log lines never contain document content.
• Contact messages. What you send through the contact form, so we can reply.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. It sets cookies and collects usage data as described in Google's privacy policy. See the cookie policy. Session tokens for signed-in users are stored in your browser's local storage.

Your rights

You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by emailing contact@simplefiletools.com. Because documents are never stored, there is no document data to delete.

Enterprise and private deployments

Enterprise customers can sign a data processing agreement, and can run the engine inside their own infrastructure so that documents never reach our servers at all.
